When I get a call that someone's child is sick, the remedies that I recommend to start with are pretty standard. Most of the glycerin extractions in my line were formulated when my own children were babies themselves and I needed to treat them for coughs, runny noses, colic, or diarrhea.
A few years ago, I created a "cheat cheat" that I give to my midwifery clients when their baby is born, and I'd love to share it with you here! I hope that this remedy chart helps you when you're up at 3 AM with an uncomfortable, fussy baby and you're not sure what to do!

Of course, I always recommend following your intuition as a mother when it comes to knowing when to take your child to a physician for treatment, but this little chart has helped many of my clients and family members in treating symptoms of illness in their children without the need for antibiotics.
Remember to ALWAYS dilute essential oils before applying them to a baby or toddler!
Many of the remedies on this chart are the same recommendation for older children or adults as well, we have equivalent capsulated formulas for nearly every glycerin extraction on this list.
Watch our blog for future posts with detailed instructions regarding alternative therapies such as onion poultices or ginger baths.. or you can always call our office to learn more from our staff! We would love to help you find the right remedies for your family, give us a call at (435) 586-2049 if you have any questions!
Love the cheat sheet!

Asked:
“What to put in the solution for it?
Or just give a plain water enema?”
For helping with colds, flu and fevers most of the time I administered a catnip tea or chamomile tea enema.
Both will help reduce the fever. Cleanse and he feels much better after an enema.
Best to always consult with holistic doctor before giving any home remedies. Including an enema.
If you do not have those two herbs then can give a garlic enema.
Or just a plain water enema will help if no herbs are available.
Gave with small enema bulb syringe. Given across my lap or on the bed. Always worked.
Blessings
Good article.
Love the “cheat cheat” chart.”
Given it to many other moms.
When get a few minutes will leave a longer comment.
If you are on iPhone and can only see half of the chart, turn your phone on its side.
I happened across this site and recognized a few who have posted here regarding enemas as a remedy, therapy, or adjunct to raising healthy kids. Enemas were a common intervention in our family as I was growing up in the 50’s, and all the way through the 70’s. Our family pediatrician and the adult’s doctor were proponents of this simple procedure.
While an enema wasn’t our favorite treatment as kids, we learned that a good cleansing overcame many symptoms of those various childhood maladies. I use them as I’ve aged and have benefitted many times.
My grandkids have likely never had one, and their moms have been discouraged from using them due to the changes in perspectives of more modern day medical people. It seems that trips to the “Instacare” and other clinics are the preferred route with OTC meds very common.
An old fashioned enema used to dispatch the majority of digestive problems in a matter of minutes, without the ingestion of the many chemical based meds. Coffee enemas and colonics for us older folks, seem to be a welcome method to overcome many maladies.
As those other familiar posters indicate, a simple enema may still be a very viable alternative. Obviously, consultation with medical providers is ideal, but those who may still believe in alternatives can be quite helpful.
Good article. Printed off the remedy chart. Given to other moms.
In addition to the ones listed on the chart, catnip is good for fevers.
So is garlic.
You listed enema for fevers and flu.
What to put in the solution for it?
Or just give a plain water enema?
Nancy Mom of 3, depends on the device being used to view the chart. On my pc all columns show up. On my phone the last two don’t show. So must scroll over to see them.
Growing up we also got the enema.
And I have given it in my home.
Best to consult with your doctor before giving any home remedies.
